Fashion Trends in 2019 that Need To Stop

millenials fashion

It’s no secret but millennials seem to be getting a lot of heat from other generations for just about everything they do. Seems like nobody has anything better to do than write about their spending or eating habits.

But for a change a pace, today we are going to talk about something completely different – Millennials’ strange obsession with fashion trends. Being a millennial myself, I have to admit that some fashion trends just need to stop or die once and for all.

Whether you are a fashion diva, trendsetter or a fashion stylist you need and want to follow the latest trends, whether you like them or not. But come on guys and girls, some of these trends are downright horrible.

So let’s get to it and finally, maybe we can get some support to stop these extremely bad millennial fashion trends.

Stop wearing over-the-top festival styles when you’re NOT at a festival

Festival fashion is practical while attending a music festival like Coachella, as you need to fit in. Plus, it gives you the perfect excuse to go all rock-an-roll and still look cool while doing it.

If you are unsure what you’d typically wear to a music festival, just envision outfits made entirely from mesh, sheer fabrics or sequined pants or holographic styles. And let’s not forget their trademark – the culturally inappropriate tribal headdress.

Fashion is meant to be fun, but wearing these outrageous styles in the real world is just pushing your fashion freedom a bit too far. It doesn’t fit into the real world and never will, so just stop wearing it, please!

Stop wearing sweatpants everywhere you go

Millennials, are you tired of being accused of being lazy and unmotivated? Well, maybe if you stopped wearing sweatpants that look like you slept in them, in public, then other generations will stop calling you lazy. We all love sweatpants because they are comfortable and but there is a time and place for everything.

But lets not put all of the blame on the millennials for pushing sweatpants on us; it pretty much is everyone trying to do the same. But sweatpants indicate no matter how old you are or how big of a jock you are that you are stuck in a fashion rut. It’s not stylish, fashionable or trendy, its just plain comfortable. So step out of your comfort zone and wear something that is still comfortable but actually looks good on you.

Stop it with the over-sized baggy clothes

This trend seems to tie in with my thoughts about the sweat pants, clothes that literally have no shape to them. Shapeless clothing means shapeless people. People claim they love shapeless dresses, blouses, jumpsuits, and etc. because they are ultra-comfortable.

But this trend only does one thing for you, it makes you literally disappear under your clothes. Don’t get me started on what it does for your body, but believe me I say that it does not flatter you. If you are thin, you look deathly thin, if you are slightly overweight, well now, you just really look fat. So stop hiding under your clothes!

Stop it with the uncomfortable plastic shoes

Millennials, I must applaud you all for making everyone think twice about using a plastic straw in their drink, as you are all so focused on saving the environment. But why do you want us to wear plastic shoes?

Not only are they ugly, but also they are so damn uncomfortable. Plus, they are a health risk! Doctors are constantly warning us to stop wearing them. Just because a rock star or celebrity wears them for a few minutes for a picture doesn’t mean you should be wearing them.
